OUR STRUCTURE

Understanding the OB Global Network Structure and Governance

What is "OB"?

OB is the brand used by a growing global organization through which the member firms of OB Global Limited (OBGL) deliver professional services. Collectively, these firms comprise the OB network.

Network, Not Corporation

The term "OB" may refer to an individual firm within the network or, more broadly, to some or all of the firms together.

Global Compliance

In many jurisdictions, accounting firms are required by law to be locally owned and independently operated.

Important Note: The OB network is not a global partnership, a single firm, or a multinational corporation. It is made up of firms that are separate legal entities.

Our Governance Framework

OB Global Limited (OBGL)

OBGL is an English private company limited by guarantee. It does not practice accountancy or provide services to clients. Its role is to promote coordination and collaboration among OB member firms.

  • Develops network policies
  • Promotes brand consistency
  • Manages shared resources

Member Firms

Member firms are separate legal entities that use the OB name and have access to shared resources and methodologies. They agree to comply with common policies and uphold OB network standards.

  • Independent legal entities
  • Locally owned and operated
  • Service delivery to clients

Network Leadership & Coordination

The Network Leadership Team and Board of OBGL develop and implement policies and initiatives aimed at supporting a consistent and coordinated approach among member firms where appropriate. By focusing on areas such as strategy, brand, risk, and quality, they ensure excellence across the network.

Legal Structure & Responsibilities

No Global Partnership

The OB network is not a single global partnership, and OB member firms are not legal partners of one another. Although many member firms have legally registered names that include "OB Global Limited," OBGL does not hold any ownership interest in those firms.

Independent Operations

No member firm may act as an agent of OBGL or any other member firm, nor may it bind or obligate OBGL or any other member firm. Each firm is responsible only for its own acts or omissions and not for those of OBGL or any other member firm.

Legal Independence

Likewise, OBGL does not act as an agent of any member firm, cannot bind or obligate any member firm, and is responsible solely for its own acts or omissions. Member firms may request support from other member firms and/or arrange for professional services to be delivered by other member firms or entities.
